Did you find one of our postcards? I hope it brightened your day! Wondering what this Heart Project Postcard is all about? You’re in the right place!
A few years ago, while out for a walk in my neighbourhood, I came across a bunch of Post-It notes with positive messages written on them like “You’re beautiful” and “Have a great day”. The Post-It notes were posted on stop signs, telephone poles, and store windows, and for weeks, every time I saw them they made me smile.
It was amazing how this simple act of kindness could change my entire mood. I wanted to pay it forward by leaving more positive messages around town. But I wanted to find a way to reach a wider audience and make an even bigger impact. Enter The Heart Project Postcard.
The Heart Project Postcard encourages more people to spread positive messages wherever they go, creating a ripple effect of kindness around the world. The idea is to either leave hidden messages of encouragement in public places for strangers to find or to send the postcards to friends and family who need a boost of positivity and encouragement.
What do I do if I find a postcard?
If the front of your postcard is blank, write your own positive message and either leave it for a stranger to find, or send it in the mail to someone who could use some encouragement.
If the front of your postcard is already filled out, keep it as a reminder of the kindness that exists in the world, leave it for the next person to find, or send it in the mail to someone who could use some encouragement.
Don’t forget to take a picture of your postcard and post it to Instagram! Be sure to tag a friend to help spread the love, and tag us as well (@heartprojectca) using the hashtag #heartprojectpostcard so we can see all the kind messages people have sent and how far our postcards have travelled!
